Floor Insulation
Up to 15% of heat loss is through the ground floor. We insulate suspended timber floors from below, or fit PIR over solid floors where access allows.
The overview
The short version, then the detail. No fluff, no jargon - just the facts you need to decide whether this is right for your home.
Up to 15% of heat loss is through the ground floor. We insulate suspended timber floors from below, or fit PIR over solid floors where access allows.
Every install starts with a free home survey. We measure, photograph, and talk through how you actually use the space. You get a written, fixed-price quote - not a salesperson's estimate. If grant funding applies, we check eligibility before you sign anything.
On install day, one team turns up: surveyor, lead engineer, and apprentice. No subcontractors juggling diaries, no "the guys will be in touch". We tidy as we go, protect floors and furniture, and walk you through everything that's been done before we leave.
Afterwards, your paperwork is lodged with TrustMark and the relevant scheme provider, your EPC is updated where applicable, and you get one number to call if anything ever needs attention. That's it - no upsells, no surprise extras.

Sealing the floor void eliminates the cold air pulling up through gaps between boards.
Floorboards stop acting as cold surfaces - your slippers stay in the wardrobe.
Why it pays off
No jargon, no upsells. Here's what changes for your home after we finish the install - and why it adds up.

Included as standard
The quote you receive is the price you pay. No hidden extras bolted on after install, no scaffolding "surprises", no paperwork left for you to chase.
Why GLR
One team handles the survey, the design, the install and the paperwork. No subcontractors, no handoffs, no surprises - and a real person on the phone if anything ever needs attention.

How it works
Three clear stages. Fixed pricing after survey. We work around you, not the other way round.
Inspect the sub-floor void, check ventilation and joist spacing, confirm access.
Insulation netted between joists from below, or PIR over solid floors with new finish on top.
Hatch reinstated, vents cleared, certificate issued.
The honest answer
We'd rather tell you straight than push a sale. Here's where this works well, and where we'd want a longer conversation first.

Real homes, real installs
We size every install to the home, the routine, and the energy use. One team. One number to call. You just carry on.

Not for suspended timber floors with cellar or crawl-space access. For boarded floors with no access, we'd lift a small area only if needed.
Done from below where possible. Grant routes checked first.
