What we mean by retrofit
One house, one plan, one team
Retrofit isn't a product - it's a coordinated upgrade to the way a building uses energy. Done well, it makes a home warmer, quieter, healthier and dramatically cheaper to run. Done badly, it bakes in problems for decades.
We follow the PAS 2035 framework on every funded project, with our own Retrofit Coordinators and Assessors overseeing the whole journey. That means insulation that breathes properly, heat pumps that are actually sized for the upgraded fabric, and a homeowner or tenant who knows how to use the system on day one.
- PAS 2035 / 2030 compliant whole-house retrofit
- MCS, TrustMark, HIES, NAPIT and RECC accredited
- In-house surveyors, designers and installers - no subcontracting risk
- Retrofit Coordinator and Retrofit Assessors on staff

Our approach
Fabric first, then heat, then generation
A proper retrofit follows an order. We reduce heat demand before we replace the heating system, then we add generation and storage to run what's left as cleanly and cheaply as possible.
Fabric first
We start with the building envelope - loft, cavity, solid wall and floor insulation - so every kWh you generate or buy works harder.
Heat loss is calculated room-by-room using SAP/RdSAP data before we specify a single insulation measure.
Low-carbon heat
Once heat loss is reduced we design a heat pump system properly sized to the upgraded fabric - not to the old boiler.
MCS-certified design with full hydraulic schematic, emitter upgrades and DHW strategy.
Generation & storage
Solar PV and battery storage cut grid reliance and let your heat pump and EV charger run on your own clean power.
DNO applications, G99 commissioning and battery sizing modelled against your half-hourly consumption.
Smart controls & handover
Zoned controls, remote monitoring and a proper resident handover so the upgraded home actually performs as designed.
12-month performance review built in - we check the numbers, not just the install.
What it actually delivers
Real outcomes, measured
Every project we deliver is measured against design intent. These are averages from completed GLR retrofits across the last 24 months.
Up to 60%
lower space-heating demand after fabric measures
Up to 75%
carbon reduction when paired with a heat pump
£800+
average annual bill saving on whole-house retrofits
EPC C+
achieved on 92% of completed retrofits
Who we work with
Retrofit at every scale
One home or ten thousand - the standards stay the same.

- Dedicated resident liaison officers

Local authorities & public estate
Whole-area programmes funded through SHDF, Warm Homes Local Grant and the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme - backed by transparent reporting.
- PSDS bid-stage technical support
- Outcome reporting against carbon and bill targets
- Local supply chain and SME engagement
Fabric & insulation
Reduce heat loss first
Insulation is the single highest-impact retrofit measure. We're certified to install every PAS 2030 system type - so the right specification for your property is the one you'll get.

Loft Insulation
Top-up to 300mm and storage-board systems for boarded lofts.

Cavity Wall Insulation
Bonded bead and mineral wool injection for unfilled cavities.
Learn more →
Internal Wall Insulation
PIR and woodfibre IWI systems for solid-wall properties.
Learn more →
External Wall Insulation
Render and brick-slip EWI systems delivered street-wide.
Learn more →
Floor Insulation
Underfloor mineral wool and PIR boarding for suspended floors.
Learn more →Not sure which fabric measures suit your property?
Our surveyors will model heat loss room-by-room and recommend the right system - solid wall, cavity or both.
Heat & hot water
Heating designed for the upgraded fabric
Heat pumps don't fail because of the technology - they fail when they're sized to an un-insulated house. We design every system around the home you'll actually be living in.
Generation & storage
Run what's left on your own clean power
Solar PV and battery storage close the loop - turning a retrofitted home into a self-sufficient, low-bill, low-carbon system.

Solar PV
Roof-mounted and in-roof systems with battery storage and EV pairing.

Zoned thermostats, weather comp and remote performance monitoring on every install.
How it works
From first call to handover
Every project follows the same four-stage process. You'll always know what's happening, who's doing it and when.
Step 1
Free home survey
An MCS-certified surveyor visits, measures up, takes thermal readings and discusses your goals - no obligation.
Step 2
Design & funding
We model your home in our retrofit-coordination software, identify every grant you qualify for and present a clear, fixed-price proposal.
Step 3
Install
Our in-house installers deliver every measure in the right order, with a single project manager keeping you informed throughout.
Step 4
Aftercare & monitoring
Full commissioning, resident handover pack, 12-month performance check and a long-warranty on every measure we install.

Why an in-house team matters
Retrofit goes wrong at the handovers between trades
The most common failure point in retrofit isn't the technology - it's the gap between the surveyor, the insulator, the heating engineer and the electrician. We keep all of them under one roof, on one programme, with one project manager. So nothing falls between the cracks.
Funding & grants
We'll check what you qualify for
Most retrofit projects can be part- or fully-funded. We handle eligibility checks, applications and the admin so you don't have to.

Retrofit, explained
Straight answers to the questions homeowners and housing providers ask us most.
Ask us a question →What is whole-house retrofit?+
A whole-house retrofit looks at your property as a single system - improving the building fabric, heating, ventilation and generation in the right order, rather than installing measures in isolation. It's the approach set out in PAS 2035, the UK's standard for retrofit.
Do I have to do everything at once?+
No. We can deliver in phases over months or years. The benefit of a whole-house plan is that each phase is designed knowing what comes next - so a heat pump installed in year three is sized for the insulation going in this year.
Will I qualify for grant funding?+
Most retrofit projects qualify for at least one funding stream. Owner-occupied homes can access the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme; lower-income households may qualify for fully-funded ECO4 or GBIS measures; landlords and social housing providers have their own funding routes. We check eligibility for free.
How long does a typical retrofit take?+
A single-measure install (loft, cavity, solar) is usually 1–3 days. A whole-house package with insulation, heat pump and solar typically takes 2–4 weeks on site, plus survey and design lead time.
Are you PAS 2035 certified?+
Yes. We have Retrofit Coordinators, Retrofit Assessors and Retrofit Designers on staff and deliver every funded project to PAS 2035:2023.
